More than anything, I love the look and feel – the ambience – you get from watching classic movies. The way that the best filmmakers can evoke different emotions and moods through their clever use of light and composition. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always found these talented folks to be an infectious influence. So, when it comes to my work, I do like my images to have a bit of a cinematic look.
I believe that it’s all about how you use the available light. I’m always looking for it and I’m still learning about it. I love the challenge of following it throughout a wedding day to see if it might create something original, interesting and possibly a bit different too.
But I’m always looking for the moments in-between too. Like a final deep breath before walking down the aisle, or the way the groom plays with his new wedding band. It’s about photography with emotion. Where atmosphere, sentiment, and mood are front and centre.
So when I deliver your gallery to you, I don’t just want you to “look” at the images. What I really want is for your wedding photos to take you both right back to every one of those amazing moments from your special day.
While this portfolio is a good example of how I like to document each moment as it happens. I am always open to getting those important family photos too.
