About Luke
I first started taking photos professionally while living in New Zealand.
Based in Queenstown but working throughout the Wakitipu and Southland areas, I photographed a variety of subjects, including sports, e-commerce, events and advertising. You name it – I did it. It was fun—a lot of fun.
The only thing I never photographed was a wedding. However, upon returning to the UK, I quickly discovered what I’d been missing.
This coming year will mark the completion of my first decade as a wedding photographer, and I have no plans to stop anytime soon. It’s an incredible privilege to document these celebrations, and the pride it brings me certainly hasn’t faded after all this time.
+ IN 2019, I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE NAMED BEST NEW TALENT IN EUROPE BY THE GOOD PEOPLE AT BODAF
+ I WAS ALSO NAMED ONE OF RANGEFINDER MAGAZINE’S 30 RISING STARS OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN 2019
+ In 2021, ELLE MAGAZINE VERY KINDLY PUT ME AT THE TOP OF THEIR LIST OF 17 WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
There’s nothing quite like a wedding; The first look. A deep breath as the ceremony begins. Laughter and tears during the reception. Your dad’s terrible dancing – all of it. Pure unadulterated joy as you celebrate with your favourite people in the world.
Make no mistake, you’re going to have the best time ever. And when it comes to photography, it’s about capturing every beat of the day with the respect and curiosity it deserves.
My work is informed by light, colour, mood and texture. Cinema, street photography and contemporary portraiture are inspirations. But it’s all about perfect moments, great and small. Discreetly documented alongside the details, candids, textures, and abstractions, creating beautiful, bespoke galleries for every couple I work with.
If you connect with the images here, then please do get in touch. I’d love to hear what you’re cooking up.
