Best Modern Wedding Photography 2021

So here we are. 2021 is done. Wow. I'm not sure I've processed the past year or so properly yet and I probably won't for some time. To say it's been a complete blur would be a massive understatement and I think it's fair to say that wedding photographers - and the wedding industry in general - have never been so busy in such a short space of time.

With less said about 2020 the better, and despite the massive fatigue that comes with fitting a year and a half's worth of work and travel into a third of that time, 2021 has been nothing short of being an absolute banger.

To all of my couples - every single one of you - thank you. The late-night Zoom calls, the rescheduling, the general panic of just not knowing if it was ever going to happen... What you've all been through over the past year? Hats off to every single one of you. Words really can't convey my love to all of you for making it happen and keeping me in your plans. I really do get to work with some amazing people. So, one more time, THANK YOU.

Other things that I should mention include Elle Magazine putting me at number one on their list of 17 photographers to look out for right now. Also, the lovely judges at the Way Up North awards selected an image of mine as one of the best in Europe. So yeah, this year turned out alright in the end.

I need to give a big shout out to Nigel, Colin and Lincoln, as well as Greg, the NPWC massive, and all the people on IG too. You guys keep me sane and continually inspire me with your work, comments and support.

So, on to the photos...

With a fair amount of difficulty, I've pulled together a few of my favourite frames from some of the weddings I documented this year. The images featured here are just a tiny portion of the huge number that I've delivered to my couples during the past 6 months.

And, despite the SEO-friendly title, this isn't a best-of post. Uh-uh. Nope. This is more of a mood board. More of a 'where I'm at right now' sort of thing. This is the stuff that gets me seriously excited about what I do: amazing people, beautiful light, tiny details, fleeting gestures, emotive colours and wonderful locations.
