Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2019
Ok folks. Drumroll, please...
I’m incredibly proud to announce that I've been selected by New York-based Rangefinder Magazine as one of the ‘30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography' for 2019
What. The. Fork.
With the work of around 300 photographers under consideration this year, the panel at Rangefinder went through submissions sent in from all over the world before making their final selection. Just being nominated already felt like a massive compliment, but to have actually become one of the 30 Rising Stars honorees is just mind-blowing.
This honestly wouldn't have been possible without some pretty amazing people: Firstly, Libby & Jacqueline at Rf - thank you so, so much; The other 29 photographers whom I share this with (you guys are so good); Dylan and Joanna for setting me straight about what wedding photography can be; And finally, Nigel John - easily the most talented photographer I know, and a damn good mate as well.
It would also be remiss of me if I didn't say a HUGE thank you to all of my couples. You guys are the real stars here for placing your trust in me to do what I do.
There's no doubt that this round's off what has already been a pretty crazy year for me and I need to say one final MASSIVE shout out to Kathie, Rose, and Wren for always being there. For constantly putting up with my chaotic life, and generally just being legends.

Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography 2019 // Luke Bell Photography
I'm totally and utterly obsessed with light. I'm instinctively drawn to it, and I enjoy the challenge of following it through a wedding to see if it creates something beautiful, interesting and possibly a little bit different too. But, while I'm constantly watching it, I feel like I'm still learning about it.
I combine a nonintrusive, photojournalistic approach with beautiful, modern portraiture to deliver a stylish set of images that have a cinematic look. Where nerves, joy, tears, love, light, and laughter take centre stage.
This isn’t just a full-time job for me though. It’s something I feel very strongly about and I’m constantly working to make photos that are beautiful, sincere and have a stylish, artistic, movie-like quality too. Above all though, they must always mean something special to my couples.
